R. L. Wilcox was born and raised in Oklahoma, where she still lives with her family. When not writing, she spends her time hiking, watching horror movies, gardening, and defending her corn in an ongoing battle against squirrels more clever than herself. She is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation.
